Technical Sales Specialist

Q2 is looking for a Technical Sales Specialist to drive revenue growth and adoption of Q2’s Software Development Kit (SDK) and Q2 Code. The role partners with CIOs, CTOs, and technical stakeholders to demonstrate business value, technical feasibility, integration capabilities, and ROI while driving bookings and expanding ARR opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Understand technical architecture and concepts of Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC)
  • Have hands‑on familiarity with software development, APIs/SDKs, and AI‑assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Terminal/Bash, Python, and IDE usage
  • Develop business and marketing plans in coordination with the Managing Director to achieve assigned MRR sales and revenue goals
  • Analyze current and past sales, revenues, and product/solution opportunities to recommend business growth and sales strategies
  • Research the existing client base to identify new solution sales opportunities and increase MRR
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Product, Business Development, Marketing, Security, and other Q2 teams to provide expertise on Q2’s products and services within the assigned vertical channel
  • Respond to Relationship Manager and client queries regarding the products in a timely fashion
  • Develop, implement, and measure business proposals and campaigns (awareness and SPIFFs) for existing Relationship Managers and Clients
  • Create creative strategies to increase MRR sales to existing clients, including gathering feedback from RMs and clients
  • Prepare, maintain, and track an annual sales budget for the vertical channel against the budget
  • Develop in‑depth knowledge of vertical channel solutions, business development practices, marketing activities, clients, and industry trends
  • Maintain a knowledge repository of clients, referrals, opportunities, and presentations
  • Build strong client and Relationship Manager relationships to generate high‑volume MRR sales
  • Manage client calls and appointments for new MRR opportunities
  • Define, determine, recommend, and implement cross‑selling MRR opportunities across different RM portfolios
  • Ensure adherence to security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy policies and controls
  • Manage and report the assigned vertical channel sales pipeline opportunities to the Managing Director
Experience and Knowledge
  • 5+ years of business‑to‑business or business‑to‑consumer relationship‑management experience
  • 2+ years of experience selling to managed‑relationship accounts (preferred)
  • Banking or banking‑software experience (preferred)
  • Proven ability to build decision‑maker relationships and navigate matrix‑structured environments
  • Proven sales results
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and Salesforce
  • Travel may be required
  • Fluent written and oral communication in English
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the United States; no visa sponsorship available
