Summary

Placer.ai is hiring a Sales Development Manager to lead a team of 6-10 outbound Sales Development Representatives. This team owns the outbound pipeline, books qualified meetings that turn into closed‑won revenue, and develops the next generation of Placer sales talent.

Responsibilities
  • Hire and ramp SDRs to a high standard, leading onboarding from Placer fluency through cold‑call certification, and getting new reps booking pipeline early.
  • Coach each rep based on their needs. Run a consistent operating rhythm and work with them on time management, prospecting strategy, objection handling, active listening, and qualification.
  • Focus on results, not activity. Monitor leading indicators, catch reps who are off‑pace early, and make the calls to get the team back on plan.
  • Provide sales leadership with a clear, honest weekly read on the team. Translate Salesforce data into insights, explain the drivers behind numbers, and outline actions to close gaps.
  • Collaborate directly with sales and marketing on pipeline strategy, account targeting, and outbound campaigns, ensuring alignment with company priorities.
  • Build resources that improve the team: sequences, talk tracks, account research frameworks, and a prospecting library available for all reps.
  • Create a team culture of high accountability, ambition, and standards that every member upholds.
  • Drive continuous improvement—double down on what works, fix what doesn’t, and evolve the playbook.
Requirements
  • Experience in sales development as a high performer and a leader, with a track record of carrying a quota and coaching others.
  • Proven ability to build, ramp, and develop high‑performing teams, hiring reps who become great.
  • Comfortable working in Salesforce, building and interpreting reports to drive decisions.
  • Coaching instincts: listen to calls, diagnose issues, and give sharp, actionable feedback.
  • Strong judgment under pressure, knowing when to invest in a rep and when to make a tough call.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication: build trust with reps, hold leadership meetings, and represent the team across the organization.
  • Hungry, resilient, and competitive; take losing personally to improve, and share success.
  • Ability to move fast without perfect information, making decisions and adjusting as data arrives.
Compensation and Benefits

The U.S. annualized pay range is $100‑125 K base, with eligibility for sales‑based commission that could bring total on‑target earnings to $130‑155 K. Placer provides medical, dental, and vision coverage; flexible time off; 401(k) and equity awards for certain roles.
