The Associate Sales Representative (ASR) is responsible for marketing and promoting Stryker Sustainability Solutions products and services, and driving an increase in account receipt values in hospitals and surgery centers. The ideal candidate will have the desire and aptitude to advance to a Sales Representative role within 1-3 years.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Educate and inform hospital stakeholders regarding the benefits of SSS products and services, thus increasing the volume of used devices collected and reprocessed devices ordered.
- Conduct in‑service education with hospital stakeholders and cross‑departmental staff across 24x7 shifts to share new programs, changes, updates, or customer concerns, promoting the benefits of reprocessed devices and driving higher collection volume and sales.
- Identify hospital and surgery center needs and reprocessing gaps, and implement new collection areas within facilities.
- After extensive training on SSS products and reprocessing services, tailor Stryker’s promotional message based on customer knowledge, advise on appropriate product selection, answer questions about product functionality and FDA guidelines on reprocessing, and distinguish Stryker products from competitors.
- Recommend solutions to maximize customers’ reprocessing programs based on analysis of current practices and needs.
- Tailor marketing materials, signage, and collateral to the needs of each account and collection site.
- Lead business reviews with customers to identify growth opportunities.
- Assist in planning and executing the territory business plan based on knowledge of existing and projected sales and trends.
- Analyze device usage to maximize participation in Stryker’s reprocessing program and create action plans for increasing account participation and potential sales of new products and services.
- Collect and analyze information from multiple sources regarding the merits of the reprocessing program and communicate the findings to stakeholders.
- Collect used devices in marked containers throughout hospitals and surgery centers, including operating rooms, patient‑handling floors, cardiovascular labs, sterile processing, and central supply.
- Support Service Associates in coordinating routine collection and shipment of recyclable single‑use devices to production facilities.
- Prepare reports, documents, and inventory supplies for shipments.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Background in sales and/or marketing preferred.
- 1–2 years B2B experience preferred.
- Experience in a hospital environment preferred.
- Computer skills:
Microsoft Office Suite, internet, intranet, and database systems such as JD Edwards One World. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to deliver effective presentations.
- Ability to assess and analyze customer issues and propose appropriate solutions.
- Ability to establish rapport and build business relationships.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs daily.
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and insurance to travel by car as required.
- Use of personal vehicle for 80–100 miles per day depending on territory.
Salary: $60k/yr and may be eligible to earn commission and/or bonuses plus benefits.
