Job Description & How to Apply Below

Durango Doors is a family-owned, custom door and window company proudly based in Austin, Texas. Since 1999, we have been designing and manufacturing high-quality custom steel doors and windows for residential and commercial clients across Austin, and the region. With over two decades of craftsmanship and a reputation built on personal service, we bring artistry and precision to every project.

Our Austin showroom is the heart of the Durango Doors experience, where clients can explore our products, meet our team, and begin the journey toward their project. We are a tight-knit team that takes pride in our work and our relationships, both with our clients and with each other.

Position Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Sales & Showroom Assistant to join our team. This is an in-person, full-time role based in our Austin showroom. The right candidate will start by learning the ins and outs of our business, our products, our clients, our processes, and our sales approach- with the goal of growing into a fully independent salesperson.

Durango Doors serves clientele that includes homeowners, luxury home builders, interior designers, and architects. Our product is a luxury offering, and the experience we provide, from the first showroom visit to project completion, reflects that standard of excellence.

In addition to supporting the showroom floor, this person will work closely with our owner, Natalie, providing day-to-day administrative and operational support as she manages her client portfolio and ongoing projects. This is a unique opportunity to learn the custom door and window industry from the ground up, with direct mentorship from our owner and experienced sales team.

Showroom & Sales Support
  • Greet and assist walk-in clients on the showroom floor, providing a welcoming and knowledgeable first impression
  • Help cover the showroom floor and support the sales team during client visits
  • Answer the sales phone line, field inquiries, and direct calls appropriately
  • Train to become a fully independent salesperson through hands-on learning and mentorship
  • Shadow the sales team to learn the full Durango Doors sales process, from first contact to close
  • Help manage and respond to sales emails, ensuring timely and professional communication
  • Assist with drafting, organizing, and tracking client contracts and related paperwork
  • Maintain and update client files and job records, keeping information organized and current
  • Help oversee and track the progress of active jobs, flagging updates or issues as needed
  • Provide general administrative support to assist in managing day-to-day client workload
What You Will Learn
  • Custom steel doors and windows
  • Our full sales process, from initial client inquiry through project completion
  • Client relationship management and how to build long-term client loyalty
  • Contract administration and project oversight in the custom fabrication industry
  • How a small, specialized manufacturing and sales business operates day-to-day
Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills- comfortable speaking with clients in person and by phone
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with email, basic computer tasks, and file management
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to in-person hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • Positive attitude and genuine eagerness to learn
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a small, collaborative team
  • Comfortable working alongside our in-house team, including architectural designers, project managers, scheduler, and accountant
Preferred (Not Required)
  • Some prior sales experience — whether in retail, hospitality, real estate, or any client-facing role
  • Experience supporting a manager or executive in an administrative capacity
  • Familiarity with the home building, construction, or design industries is a plus, but is not required
What We Offer
  • A welcoming, close-knit team environment at a well-established Austin business
  • Hands-on mentorship and a clear path to grow into a full sales role
  • The chance to work with a unique, high-quality product in a niche industry
