Role Description
Senior individual contributor managing a portfolio of school and district partners, driving adoption, retention, and expansion while serving as a trusted partner and advisor to educators and administrators.
Location & TravelThis role is based in our Austin, TX downtown office. Candidates must be currently based in Austin or be willing to relocate prior to starting. Much of the partner work happens in-person and includes >60% travel across the country, supported by generous travel stipends. Remaining time is spent working from the Austin office Monday–Friday.
What You'll DoPartner Success & Relationship Management
- Own the relationships with school and district partners, serving as their primary point of contact and strategic advisor throughout the customer lifecycle
- Conduct regular on-site partner visits, QBRs, and check‑ins to drive deep engagement and proactively surface risks
- Monitor customer health metrics and escalate issues to Product, Operations, or Support teams as needed
Expansion & Retention
- Drive renewal cycles and identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities across your portfolio of partners
- Partner with Sales to surface and hand off new business development opportunities within your accounts
- Maintain a strong net revenue retention rate (NRR) across your portfolio of partners
Enablement & Training
- Provide ongoing training and professional development support to partner educators and administrators
- Collaborate with Marketing to develop training materials, tutorials, and onboarding resources
- Gather and synthesize customer feedback to inform Product and curriculum decisions
Required
- 3+ years of experience in account management, customer success, or a related field
- Demonstrated track record managing a portfolio of accounts with meaningful ARR responsibility
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex concepts for educators and administrators
- Team player genuinely passionate about education and our mission
- Self‑starter comfortable working independently and asking for help when needed
- Comfortable with >60% travel; valid driver’s license and ability to visit partners on‑site
- Located in Austin, TX or willing to relocate before start date
Nice to Have
- Experience working directly with K‑12 school districts or in an education‑adjacent role
- Background in an early‑stage startup environment
- Focus on outcomes: measure success by what students do in the product and district renewals, not by activity metrics
- Full ownership of renewals, handling adoption, expansion, escalation, and reference work directly
- Truth over comfort, honest feedback even if it risks a renewal
- Educator fluency: familiarity with curriculum standards, budget lines, and PD sessions that drive classroom change
- AI‑native operator utilizing tools like Claude, Gong, Notion to enhance workflow
- Lives the mission and treats student outcomes and district renewals as real stakes
- Thrives in the intensity of K‑12 timelines and builds a CS function from the ground up
- Works from the Austin office 5 days a week, putting presence into partnership
