SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Hi Sign is an East Austin brewery. We brew beer people actually drink:
El Berto Mexican Lager, Violet Blueberry Blonde, Wooderson West Coast IPA, Holly St. Haze, Eastside Pilsner, and a rotating set of seasonals. Our taproom is at 730 Shady Lane. The rest of the volume lives in bars, restaurants, and retail across Austin and the surrounding cities.

This job is that rest of the volume.

You will own a territory and grow Hi Sign on premise and off premise. That means opening new accounts, keeping current accounts healthy, working our distributor, and being the person who shows up. This is a field job. Most of your week is in a vehicle, in a cooler, or at a bar, not at a desk.

• Build and work a weekly route of on-premise and off-premise accounts in Austin and nearby markets (Buda, Kyle, Dripping Springs, Lakeway, and the rest of the metro)
• Open new draft and package placements. Protect the ones we already have.
• Merchandise coolers, build displays, and keep Hi Sign visible at the point of sale
• Partner with our Austin distributor: ride-alongs, order follow-through, inventory, and joint business in accounts
• Run tastings, staff educations, tap takeovers, and night/weekend events
• Call on buyers, bar managers, and owners. Follow up. Close.
• Track your activity and results so we know what is working
• Be the face of the brewery in the trade. Represent the brand the way you would want someone representing it in your favorite bar.

Required

• 3+ years of outside sales or account-management experience
• Prior alcohol sales experience (beer, wine, or spirits). This is required.
• Live in the Austin metro and can cover the territory in a day
• Valid Texas driver’s license, clean driving record, and a reliable insured vehicle
• Ability to get a TABC seller-server certification (or already have one)
• Ability to lift, move, and roll full kegs and cases (up to 165 lbs) and to work in coolers and on your feet
• Comfortable working some nights, weekends, and events
• A phone voice and a follow-through habit. You do what you said you would do.

Preferred

• Craft beer sales in Austin or Texas
• Existing relationships with Austin-area bars, restaurants, or retail buyers
• Experience working a distributor network
• Spanish is a plus
