Role Description

This is a part-time, permanent, on-site Laboratory Technician role located in Cedar Park, TX. The Laboratory Technician will perform routine laboratory tests and analyses on food and agricultural samples, following established protocols and safety procedures. Responsibilities include preparing samples and reagents, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, recording and organizing test data, and supporting quality control activities. The role also involves assisting with inventory management, keeping work spaces clean and compliant, and communicating results or issues to senior lab staff.

The technician will collaborate with team members to ensure that testing is accurate, timely, and aligned with client and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications
  • Strong laboratory skills, including sample preparation, handling, and basic laboratory techniques relevant to food and agriculture testing.
  • Experience working with laboratory equipment and instruments, with the ability to perform routine maintenance and follow operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of quality control practices, including adherence to protocols, documentation standards, and regulatory or accreditation requirements.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify anomalies, and troubleshoot basic testing issues.
  • Experience as a laboratory technician or in a similar laboratory support role is beneficial.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work safely with chemicals and biological materials, and comply with lab safety guidelines.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture, or related field) preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preference for those with food microbiology experience in an ISO
    17025 accredited lab.
