This position provides for work-life balance with typically a 40-hours work week that includes the potential for a flexible work arrangement. Eligibility and requirements to be discussed during the interview.## Purpose Provides technical skills in the operation and support of environmental health and safety programs in compliance with regulatory agency guidelines and institutional policies. Responsible for monitoring policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.

Assists faculty and staff regarding the interpretation and implementation of health and safety regulations, policies and procedures## Responsibilities
* Responsible for the safe collection, handling, and processing of hazardous waste, regulated medical waste, and other regulated waste materials for the University of Texas at Austin campuses following all regulatory requirements and internal procedures. This includes communicating effectively with internal customers to coordinate waste collections, address procedural waste management issues, and report waste management issues to senior staff or management as needed.
* Responsible for maintaining waste facility cleanliness, conducting inspections, monitoring, and testing of sites, and the collection environmental samples under the direction of senior environmental staff to comply with permit and regulatory requirements of storm water, wastewater, SPCC, PST and other environmental programs.
* Responds to environmental health and safety issues, complaints, and emergencies including hazardous/non-hazardous spills, odors, contamination, and injuries/exposures. Must be able to accurately gather information related to the potential impacts to…
