Purpose

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a highly motivated Graduate Research Assistant to join the Office of Governmental Affairs & Initiatives. The Graduate Research Assistant will support the team by researching, planning, and executing the office’s strategic engagement activities. The position will allow a graduate student to gain valuable knowledge working at the intersection of policy and higher education.

It will also allow them to receive real hands-on experience executing high caliber programming and projects by collaborating with stakeholders across campus.

Responsibilities
  • Supports the engagement work of the Governmental Affairs Office, including but not limited to, the planning and execution of programming and multiple events.
  • Regularly updates the CRM database and ensures the accuracy of its records.
  • Monitors local, state, and federal policy as needed.
  • Conducts research and analysis to support various projects.
  • Provides limited administrative support.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree; currently enrolled, in good standing, as a graduate student at UT.
  • Proficient in event planning and execution.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a similar role or internship is desirable.
  • Interest in the intersection of engagement, higher education policy and/or in government.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
Salary

$25.00 hourly
