As a Security Guard - Roving Patrol in Austin, TX
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support staff, students, and visitors with strong customer service and clear communication while documenting observations and reporting concerns.

What You'll Do:
  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational campus location.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of academic buildings, parking areas, residence and/or common areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
  • Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry by observing for unusual activity, verifying credentials when required, and directing visitors to the appropriate check-in process.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical situations, and alarms; request assistance from campus staff and/or public responders as needed.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs related to patrols, incidents, and security-related observations, and communicate timely updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
