• Cadet: $52,500
• First Year Officer (upon graduation): $68,626

• Attend classes, keep comprehensive notes, actively participate in discussions and group projects.
• Comply with Academy rules, assignments, and instructions from the Director of Police, Academy staff, or respective institution police departments.
• Participate in physical and defensive tactics training program.
• Participate in firearms training.
• Participate in practical problem scenarios.
• Perform related duties as required.

• High school diploma or GED.
• United States citizenship.
• Age 21 on commission date.
• Meet UT System requirements for Police Officer.
• Criminal history with no felony or misdemeanor above class C within last 10 years.
• Stable work history.
• Clear oral and written communication; ability to provide credible testimony in a court of law.
• Pass oral board, written and physical testing, background investigation.
• Acceptable driving record; eligible to operate a UT owned vehicle.
• Ability to complete detailed forms accurately and timely.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Experience working in higher education or comparable environment.
• Experience with communication equipment.
• Bilingual proficiency.

Environmental demands: uniforms or PPE, work in all weather conditions, extreme temperatures, chemical fumes, biohazards, electrical and mechanical hazards.

Physical tasks: repetitive keyboard use, manual dexterity, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting and moving.

Work shift:

Mandatory overtime, various shifts, weekends, holidays; hours may extend during special events.
