Compensation- Cadet: $52,500
- First Year Officer (upon graduation): $68,626
- Attend classes, keep comprehensive notes, actively participate in discussions and group projects.
- Comply with Academy rules, assignments, and instructions from the Director of Police, Academy staff, or respective institution police departments.
- Participate in physical and defensive tactics training program.
- Participate in firearms training.
- Participate in practical problem scenarios.
- Perform related duties as required.
- High school diploma or GED.
- United States citizenship.
- Age 21 on commission date.
- Meet UT System requirements for Police Officer.
- Criminal history with no felony or misdemeanor above class C within last 10 years.
- Stable work history.
- Clear oral and written communication; ability to provide credible testimony in a court of law.
- Pass oral board, written and physical testing, background investigation.
- Acceptable driving record; eligible to operate a UT owned vehicle.
- Ability to complete detailed forms accurately and timely.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- Experience working in higher education or comparable environment.
- Experience with communication equipment.
- Bilingual proficiency.
Environmental demands: uniforms or PPE, work in all weather conditions, extreme temperatures, chemical fumes, biohazards, electrical and mechanical hazards.
Physical tasks: repetitive keyboard use, manual dexterity, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting and moving.
Work shift:
Mandatory overtime, various shifts, weekends, holidays; hours may extend during special events.
