Job Description
Purpose:
Assist the Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) and Contractor Security Officer (CSO) in the management of security standards and compliance of requirements set forth in the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual, Intelligence Community Directives, DoD 5105.21 Sensitive Compartmented Information Administrative Security Manual, and DoD 5205.07 Special Access Program Security Manual.
- Perform administrative functions needed for the maintenance of special programs under the CSSO's and CSO's portfolio by initiating and tracking security administrative actions required by government regulations, approved standard operating procedures and CSO guidance; assisting in auditing and monitoring of local security policy for special programs; conducting self‑inspections, responding to sponsor inquiries and reviewing related documents for accuracy and completeness; assisting PIs in meeting security administrative requirements;
administering compliant security education, training and awareness, and updating records accordingly. - Assist the CSSO and CSO in performing information security tasks including but not limited to: document control; visitor control and meeting coordination; security log maintenance and file retention; incident investigation and reporting; standard operating procedure monitoring and enforcement.
- Assist the CSSO and CSO in performing personnel security administrative tasks including but not limited to: coordinate and submit program access requests, maintain personnel files, make required reports to cognizant security agencies (CSA), maintain access roster.
- Assist the CSSO and CSO in performing physical/technical security administrative tasks including but not limited to: maintain access lists, alarm response and investigation, perform random inspections, coordinate alarm testing and maintenance.
- Other related functions as assigned.
- High School or GED.
- Seven years of related experience including two years providing security support in a classified Department of Defense (DOD), sensitive compartmented information (SCI) environment.
- Strong communication skills, critical thinking, problem‑solving skills; self‑motivated with ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects; ability to work with people in a team environment.
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Five years of experience providing administrative security support in sensitive compartmented information environments.
- Three years in an assistant role to a Facility Security Officer, CPSO or CSSO.
- Eligibility for immediate access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position.
- Knowledge of Special Access and Sensitive Compartmented Information programs and government regulations.
- Experience using Scattered Castles.
US Citizen. The selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project sponsor(s). Employment will be contingent on the applicant submitting an application for access and receiving notification of eligibility within a specified period. If eligibility is confirmed within the specified period, employment must begin within 30 days of confirmation, and eligibility for access to all levels of classified information must continue without interruption during employment, including the successful completion of security polygraph examinations as required by the sponsor(s).

$67,128 - $90,366+ (negotiable depending on qualifications)
