DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY
The Residence Hall Lobby Monitor is a staff member in Residence Life who assists the Residence Hall Directors in ensuring that the residence halls are secure. The overnight shift position is a full-time, nine-month appointment. Responsibilities include maintaining building security by performing the following tasks:
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sees that all outside exit doors are securely shut and locked at midnight;
- Admits residents students of the building(s) arriving after midnight;
- Checks identification of entering residents and guests;
- Records information of entering guests and hosts;
- Prohibits entry of unescorted non-residents and unidentified persons;
- Observes and communicates activity in lobby, elevator, and perimeter area;
- Makes routine rounds as directed by the Residence Hall Directors to ensure building is secure;
- Collaborates with the Office of Campus Safety and confronts and reports violations as appropriate;
- Enforces University and residence hall policies;
- Works cooperatively with staff members and students;
- Works during Thanksgiving and Spring Breaks, as well as Texas Relays;
- Documents incidents to the Residence Hall Directors and Campus Safety immediately;
- Maintains a daily incident log and attends all training sessions as directed.
- Residence Hall management experience preferred;
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Experience working with young adults;
- Ability to stay awake overnight;
- Demonstrate sound judgment and maturity;
- Good communication and written skills;
- Reliability, flexibility, and sincere orientation toward teamwork and good customer service.
SUPERVISION
- This position reports to the Director of Campus and Residential Life
SALARY RANGE
- $1,6000 Monthly, plus benefits!
POSITION STATUS
- Full-time; in-person.

Founded in 1875, Huston-Tillotson University is Austin's first institution of higher education.
