Position Overview:

At Hotel ZaZa, the Property Protection team plays an essential role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our guests, employees, and property. The Property Protection Agent is responsible for monitoring hotel operations, responding to security concerns and emergencies, protecting hotel assets, and supporting the overall safety and well-being of everyone on property.

This role requires a professional, approachable, and service-oriented presence. Property Protection Agent is expected to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, respond calmly to challenging situations, and work closely with hotel leadership and local authorities when necessary. The position serves as both a safety resource and a brand ambassador, ensuring security procedures are followed while maintaining the elevated level of hospitality expected at Hotel ZaZa.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain a visible, professional, and approachable presence throughout the hotel and property while providing a safe and welcoming environment for guests and employees

Conduct regular patrols of guest areas, public spaces, back-of-house areas, parking areas, entrances, exits, and other designated areas of the property

Monitor property activity and identify potential safety, security, or loss-prevention concerns

Respond promptly and appropriately to guest, employee, and property-related security concerns

Respond to emergencies, accidents, disturbances, medical situations, fire alarms, and other incidents in accordance with hotel policies and emergency procedures

Assist with crowd control and maintain a safe environment during high-occupancy periods, events, and other high-volume activities

Monitor surveillance systems and report suspicious, unusual, or potentially unsafe activity to management

Protect hotel guests, employees, company assets, and property from theft, damage, unauthorized access, and other security risks

Investigate and document incidents, accidents, guest complaints, employee concerns, property damage, lost and found items, and other security-related matters

Assist in the completion of detailed incident reports and ensure all necessary information is accurately documented and communicated to management

Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive guest, employee, and hotel information

Respond to disturbances and potentially difficult or confrontational situations in a calm, professional, and de-escalating manner

Enforce hotel policies and procedures while using sound judgment and maintaining a high level of guest service

Maintain familiarity with emergency exits, fire protection equipment, evacuation procedures, emergency contacts, and other life-safety systems throughout the property

Work closely with hotel leadership, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, Valet, and other departments to address safety and security concerns

Maintain accurate daily logs, shift reports, and other required documentation

Ensure all security equipment, radios, keys, and other assigned property protection resources are properly maintained and secured

Report maintenance, safety, lighting, access, or other property conditions that may create a security risk Maintain awareness of hotel operations, events, occupancy levels, and other activities that may impact property security

Uphold Hotel ZaZa grooming, uniform, guest service, safety, and professional conduct standards

Maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion when interacting with guests, employees, vendors, and visitors

Complete additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

Previous experience in hotel security, property protection, loss prevention, public safety, law enforcement, military, or a related field preferred

Previous hospitality or guest service experience preferred

Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills

Ability to remain calm, professional, and composed during emergencies or challenging situations

Strong observation and situational-awareness skills

Ability to exercise sound judgment and make appropriate decisions in time-sensitive situations

Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document incidents and observations

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately

Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a hotel operations team Ability to interact professionally with guests and employees from diverse backgrounds

Basic computer skills and ability to learn hotel security, access control, surveillance, and communication systems

Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and during special events as required
