The Security Center Coordinator (Night Shift) maintains high visibility and direct responsibility for the effective and efficient operations of the Security Operations Center. Serves as a central information hub for County safety/security issues and provides emergency and non-emergency security system monitoring, event dispatch, and emergency notification services. Responsible for driving process refinement and implementation, reviewing and approving incident reports, cross‑team/discipline collaboration, maintenance of internal and external stakeholder relationships, and direct supervision of Security Center staff.
DISTINGUISHINGCHARACTERISTICS:
This is a job classification within the Maintenance job family. This classification is responsible for Travis County security functions and coordinates Security Center staff within the Security Division. This classification may require a flexible work schedule and may be required to work on rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays in order to meet the needs of the County.
- Provides supervision and leadership to assigned staff.
- Sets achievable goals along with defined milestones and deliverables.
- Coordinates the operations of unified physical and personnel security platforms involving access control, video surveillance, communications, intrusion, and analytics.
- Develops, implements, and refines security policies and procedures.
- Communicates new processes with team members and ensures compliance.
- Ensures enhanced situational awareness, unified command and control, and centralized operations of County physical security systems.
- Oversees training activities in order to achieve the highest levels of team operational readiness and effectiveness.
- Ensures security concerns, violations, breaches, questionable activities and emergencies are reported both verbally and in writing.
- Reports the activities of the team to upper management in an effective, accurate, and timely manner.
- Provides continuous improvement of operational controls and mitigates threats to County staff, facilities, and operations.
- Operates security computer systems regularly, as assigned.
- Operates a radio system in accordance with FCC rules and regulations.
- Coordinates, and controls multiple communications and simultaneous tasks on demand.
- Develops and updates checklists, protocols, and phone listings to effectively manage incidents and makes applicable notifications.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Associate's degree in security, public safety or directly related field and five (5) years of related experience in security, business, or emergency and non-emergency notification services/dispatch;

Any combination of education and experience that has been achieved and is equivalent to the stated education and experience and required knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this job.
Licenses, Registrations, Certifications, orSpecial Requirements
Valid Texas Driver's License.
- Must pass a criminal background check for CJIS clearance.
- Applicants are required to successfully pass the background investigation, including fingerprint clearance.
Prior military, law enforcement, security, fire protection, or public safety dispatcher experience.
Experience with access control, alarm monitoring, and CCTV.
Knowledge of- Software based security systems, CCTV, and access control systems.
- Extensive technical acumen of computer software programs to include word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email and a variety of software packages.
- Security regulations and procedures.
- Security access control, CCTV and alarm systems, email, intranet systems and complex communication device systems.
- Working knowledge of the physical County geometry layout.
- Basic telephone courtesy.
- Business letter writing, grammar and punctuation, and report preparation.
- Processing and maintaining a wide variety of files, logs, reports, and forms.
- Strong computer skills and demonstrated ability to effectively operate and coordinate security tools and processes.
