Role Description

The Field Services Center Technician II supports the dispatch and technical support of installing and repairing GFiber services, and the maintenance of Outside and Inside Plant, planned maintenance, and preventative maintenance. Primary responsibilities include using service support software such as Salesforce - Field Service Lightning (FSL), Oracle Field Service Cloud (OFSC), GIS mapping systems, and diagnosing/correcting root causes from the central office or customer premises to installations.

This role involves working with components and configurations such as:

  • Impairments to/with all connections
  • Drop cabling
  • Network interface units, patch panels
  • Media cabinets
  • ONTs
  • Inside wiring (fiber, ethernet, including backup powering, UPS, etc.)
  • Media gateways, Modems, Routers, switches
  • OSP Cabling
  • Active electronics (including CWDM and DWDM applications)
Responsibilities
  • Resolve complex issues by troubleshooting impacted residential and small business services.
  • Coordinate multiple repair and maintenance resources for Outside Plant (OSP) on concurrent incidents.
  • Coordinate install fulfillment dispatch including route optimization and handling calls from technicians.
  • Have knowledge of installation and test of Ethernet jacks, making cross connects in telecom spaces (MDF, IDF, HDF), working with fiber optic cables, installing radio mounts, tuning microwave point-to-point radios, and performing installation/construction duties, maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Navigate complex customer interactions with exceptional client service, professionalism, and thoroughness.
  • Proficiency with computers and adherence to company entry policies, both time bound and in verbiage.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3 years experience in Fiber to the Home (FTTH) / GPON / XGS-PON network construction and/or large-scale fiber network deployments.
  • 3 years of experience managing relationships with a variety of contractors and vendors.
  • 3 years of experience in GIS or equivalent mapping systems.
  • Ability to work non-standard working hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and differing work rotations/shifts.
  • Experience using a computer in a professional setting.
  • Experience with field services dispatch in telecom or similar industry.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years experience with field services dispatch in telecom or similar industry.
  • 3 years of experience in fiber splicing for termination and midspan use cases, OTDR and Power Meter fiber optic testing.
  • 3 years of experience with fiber to the B2B/Enterprise level fiber network construction/operations.
  • Experience troubleshooting Ethernet network issues related to routers, switches and hubs.
  • Experience with rack and stack work, assembling server stanchions, telemetry closet work (MPOE, DMARC, etc.), and patch panels.
  • Experience operating Google Workspace, Oracle Field Services Cloud (OFSC), and/or Salesforce - Field Service Lightning (FSL).
Compensation

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $74,000 - $81,000 plus bonus and benefits. Your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
