Security Technician

The Security Technician is responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining security systems. This includes access control systems, CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion alarms, fire alarms, networking components related to security systems, and other low‑voltage equipment. The role requires strong technical skills, customer service, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Install and program security systems including CCTV cameras, NVR/DVR systems, access control hardware, intrusion alarms, and related software.
• Run, label, and terminate low‑voltage cabling (CAT5/6, coaxial, fiber, etc.).
• Mount and align security devices such as cameras, sensors, card readers, and control panels.
• Configure network settings, IP addressing, and integrations with customer systems.

• Perform system diagnostics and repairs on malfunctioning equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance and preventive inspections on security systems.
• Identify and resolve connectivity issues, power failures, and hardware malfunctions.
• Test systems to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety standards.

• Communicate clearly with clients regarding system operation, maintenance needs, and service issues.
• Provide on‑site training to end users when required.
• Document installations, service calls, and system configurations using company software.
• Maintain accurate inventory of equipment, tools, and materials.

• Follow all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• Ensure installations meet relevant building codes and manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain clean, professional job sites and adhere to project schedules.

• 2+ years of experience with access control, video surveillance, security systems, and BMS Controls
• Strong knowledge of security equipment operation and maintenance
• Have a high focus on customer service and satisfaction
