Immediately hiring a Certified Pipe Welder (stick) for a large company. The commercial job site is located in South Austin. Pay is $49.92/hr schedule is Mon-Fri 7 am-3:30 pm (OT as needed).

Pipe Welder duties:

• Perform shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) on various types of piping, typically carbon steel or stainless steel.
• Weld pipe in various positions (horizontal, vertical, overhead, 6G) as required by job specifications.
• Fit and align pipe sections, elbows, valves, and flanges using clamps, wedges, and precision tools.
• Perform root passes, hot passes, fill and cap passes to ensure full weld penetration and structural integrity
• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams).
• Cut, bevel, and grind pipe ends using power tools or torches.
• Weld to certified standards, often per ASME, AWS D1.1/D1.6, or similar codes.
• Pass weld tests (e.g., 6G certification) and perform visual, X-ray, or ultrasonic inspections.
• Ensure welds meet inspection standards for penetration, strength, and lack of defects

Requirements:

• Seeking at least 4 yrs. of welding experience in the field
• Must be certified for all positions (6G) on the stick
• Previous commercial construction welding preferred
• Must pass weld test to start
