Responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing diesel and natural gas generators (5kW-5MW) and related electrical/control systems in a hands-on, independent field role.
Position Offers
- Up to $55/hr. If your target pay is higher, we still encourage you to apply-we could request adjustments based on experience and market conditions.
- Overtime paid at 1.5x base rate

- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on diesel and natural gas generators ranging from 5kW to 5MW
- Diagnose and repair Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), including bypass isolation and closed transition systems
- Troubleshoot AC/DC electrical systems, control panels, and associated components
- Conduct load bank testing and system performance checks to ensure proper operation and compliance
- Perform generator start-ups, commissioning, and warranty repairs per manufacturer guidelines
- Utilize OEM diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve system issues
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
- Communicate clearly with customers, documenting service findings, recommendations, and job status
- Manage service documentation, scheduling, and inventory in a field-based environment
- Collaborate with other technicians on large or complex projects as needed
- 5+ years of experience servicing diesel and/or natural gas generators and electrical power systems
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical documentation independently
- Generac certification preferred
- Associate degree in electrical or mechanical field preferred
- Comfortable working independently in a field-based role with travel and occasional overnight stays
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions
