Job Summary

TNT Crane & Rigging, Inc. is seeking an experienced full‑time crane mechanic to support our growing branch in San Antonio. The mechanic will perform maintenance and repairs on mobile cranes, forklifts, and other equipment while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and company safety policies.

Responsibilities
  • Supply own tools with up‑to‑date inventory (shop provides specialty tools).
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on cranes, forklifts, and other equipment.
  • Document all maintenance and repairs performed and file records properly.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Lift 40 lbs. or more as required.
  • Pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic circuits (a plus).
  • Work evenings and weekends at the shop when needed.
  • Verbally communicate safety issues to customers and coworkers on location before and during tasks.
  • Report to the Supervisor and/or Lead Mechanic upon completion of assigned job tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 2–5 years of experience as a mobile truck mechanic/technician with the ability to inspect and diagnose defects on cranes.
  • Read and understand operating manuals, parts manuals, and technical drawings.
  • Test mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic products and equipment after repairs or modifications to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications.
  • Accomplish tasks independently without direct supervision.
  • Observe and maintain all equipment according to safety requirements.
  • Maintain reports, timesheets, work orders, expense reports, etc., accurately.
  • Work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Have a TWIC card or be able to acquire one readily.
  • Use hand signals to operate the crane.
  • Interpret, read, and write reports in English.
  • Possess mechanical and analytical skills.
  • Interpret, read, and troubleshoot using schematics.
  • Prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines.
