STAR is hiring Low Voltage Helpers for commercial low-voltage and structured cabling projects throughout the Austin area. These positions support commercial construction, infrastructure upgrades, tenant finish-outs, and technology installations in active commercial environments.
This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the low-voltage industry while working alongside experienced technicians on commercial projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with installation of low-voltage systems in commercial facilities

• Pull and route low-voltage cabling through conduit, cable tray, J-hooks, sleeves, and structured pathways

• Assist with installation of voice and data cabling, security systems, access control devices, CCTV systems, and fire alarm infrastructure

• Support cable dressing, labeling, pathway organization, and telecommunications room cleanup

• Assist with mounting devices, rack buildouts, and basic terminations

• Follow blueprints, floor plans, and installation layouts under technician supervision

• Maintain clean and safe work areas on active commercial job sites

• Assist with material handling, inventory organization, and job site preparation

• Follow commercial construction safety standards and low-voltage installation best practices

Technical Requirements

• 6 months to 1 year of construction, low-voltage, electrical, or cable installation experience preferred

• Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools

• Ability to work from ladders and lifts in commercial environments

• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn low-voltage systems and installation methods

• Ability to work in fast-paced commercial construction environments

• Reliable transportation required

Preferred Experience

• Commercial construction projects

• Cable pulling and pathway installation

• Structured cabling or low-voltage helper experience

• Experience working with voice/data, security, or fire alarm systems

Compensation & Benefits
