About the RoleWe are a growing mechanical contractor specializing in industrial and heavy commercial HVAC projects. We already have strong Project Managers and office support in place, so we’re looking for experienced, hands‑on installers/technicians who love working in the field and getting the job done right. This is a boots‑on‑the‑ground position requiring the ability to perform the essential physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in various conditions.
CDMtek performs a variety of construction services where each project and even daily tasks will differ in a wide variety of skillsets, offering the opportunity to learn new skillsets and grow while enhancing job satisfaction. You will be installing, rigging, and constructing large‑scale HVAC systems alongside very skilled and capable professionals. We need capable people who can be managed effectively but don’t need to manage others.
You’ll Be Doing
- Installing chillers, boilers, large air handlers, pumps, VFDs, and hydronic systems
- Installing ductwork
- Inserting threaded, grooved, welded, brazed piping
- Managing associated utilities and ancillary construction in general trades
- Working on both new construction and retrofit/upgrade projects
- Rigging and setting heavy equipment
- Troubleshooting and solving problems as they arise in the field
- Helping keep projects on schedule alongside our PMs
- 4+ years of hands‑on installation experience in heavy commercial/industrial HVAC
- Skills in metal air‑side ducting, pipe fitting, brazing, rigging, and layout
- Ability to read and work from mechanical drawings
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and pride in quality work
- Ability to work well with a team, take direction, and get the job done
- Safety conscious, observing safety and jobsie rules
- Experience with manlift, scissor, boom, and fork lift equipment
