Cable Technician I
Location:
Rayville, LA. This is a contract position based out of Austin, TX. Premium travel compensation is provided, including paid drive time and a $350/week per diem for food. Free lodging is also supplied.
- Install and terminate CAT3 and CAT5 cabling, jacks, faceplates, and surface‑mount boxes.
- Build and organize telecom closets, including racks, patch panels, fiber hardware, and grounding.
- Perform cable testing and troubleshooting using toners, meters, and continuity tools.
- Identify active voice and data circuits.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
- Follow all safety and quality standards.
- Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work on ladders, in ceilings, and in confined spaces.
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to distinguish cable colors and read small print.
- Reliable attendance and professional attitude.
- Willingness to travel within the region as needed.
Pay: $22.00 – $22.00 per hour.
