Cable Technician I

Location:

Rayville, LA. This is a contract position based out of Austin, TX. Premium travel compensation is provided, including paid drive time and a $350/week per diem for food. Free lodging is also supplied.

• Install and terminate CAT3 and CAT5 cabling, jacks, faceplates, and surface‑mount boxes.
• Build and organize telecom closets, including racks, patch panels, fiber hardware, and grounding.
• Perform cable testing and troubleshooting using toners, meters, and continuity tools.
• Identify active voice and data circuits.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow all safety and quality standards.

• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work on ladders, in ceilings, and in confined spaces.
• Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to distinguish cable colors and read small print.
• Reliable attendance and professional attitude.
• Willingness to travel within the region as needed.

Pay: $22.00 – $22.00 per hour.
