The selected candidate must have a valid/current Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.

Purpose

This position is needed to support the ongoing growth of the Utilities and Energy Management department. UEM will be involved in multiple upgrades and construction projects in the future.

Responsibilities

* Assists in performing journey-level installation, retrofit, and modification of low and medium-voltage circuit breakers and switch gear, lighting, battery equipment, motors, motor starters, VFD's, soft-starters, PLCs, DCS, UPSs, and ATS systems.

* And other electrical and controls-related items in a power and chill water production environment. Maintains compliance with the National Electric Code.

Required Qualifications

High school graduation or GED. At least 2-years of related apprentice-level experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation and control systems for mechanical, electrical and industrial equipment. Hold a current Texas apprentice electrician license or attain one within 3-months of hire on date

Preferred Qualifications

At least 4-years of related apprentice level experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation and control systems for mechanical, electrical and industrial equipment in a power and chill water production environment. Graduation/certification from a relevant trade school. Texas Journeyman Electrician License

Driving Required

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

Work Shift

* Hours per week - 40

* Work hours are from 6:00 a.m, to 3:30 p.m.

* The work schedule is a 9-80. Monday through Thursday, work hours are from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM. On Friday, the work schedule is from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Every other Friday is off for half of the crew.
