About the role

As a Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician at Aalo Atomics, you will own the reliability, uptime, and continuous improvement of the critical building and manufacturing systems that keep our factory humming. You will troubleshoot and maintain a broad range of electrical and mechanical systems, lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and serve as the senior technical authority on the floor for facilities issues.

This is a hands‑on, senior‑level role for an experienced generalist who brings deep, broad expertise across both electrical and mechanical disciplines and thrives in a fast‑moving manufacturing environment.

What you’ll do
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain a broad range of electrical and mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, pumps, motors, compressors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and building controls.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical systems—low‑ and medium‑voltage wiring, panels, breakers, lighting, transformers, and control circuits.
  • Lead and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and extend asset life.
  • Respond to facility emergencies and prioritize repairs to minimize disruption to production.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
  • Maintain and service building utility systems (compressed air, process cooling, water, gas, electrical distribution).
  • Coordinate with and oversee outside contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and capital projects.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, parts inventory, and compliance documentation, typically within a CMMS.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies, including lockout/tagout.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to improve system reliability, processes, and energy efficiency.
  • Mentor junior maintenance technicians and establish maintenance standards and best practices for the facility.
Qualifications Required
  • 7+ years of facilities, industrial, or plant maintenance experience with demonstrated breadth across both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and manuals.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Solid understanding of relevant safety standards (OSHA, NEC, lockout/tagout).
  • Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor others.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred
  • Experience in nuclear, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Trade certification or licensure (journeyman electrician, etc.).
  • Experience maintaining automated production or robotic equipment and supporting industrial utility systems.
  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms and predictive maintenance technologies (vibration analysis, thermography).
  • Experience supporting a greenfield or major capital‑project factory buildout.
  • Welding, fabrication, or millwright experience.
  • Associate degree or technical/vocational training in a relevant field.
  • Prior experience in a vertically integrated hardware company where teams build what they design.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical reasoning and mission‑critical messaging clearly.
Requirements
  • Based in the United States.
  • Willing to work on‑site in Austin, TX.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
What We Offer
  • Paid Time Off.
