PAMI is seeking a service-oriented Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our high-performing maintenance team in Austin. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of routine maintenance and repair tasks on residential buildings, grounds, and mechanical systems to ensure safe, functional, and well-maintained properties.
Whatyou will do in this position
Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on residential units and property structures
- Diagnose and repair issues related to electrical systems, plumbing, and appliances
- Complete basic carpentry work, including repairs to doors, windows, screens, and roofing components
Work Orders & Documentation
- Respond to and complete service requests in a timely and professional manner
- Accurately document work performed in service requests, maintenance logs, and inspection reports
- Communicate repair needs, material usage, and unresolved issues to supervisors
Equipment & Systems Upkeep
- Inspect and maintain building systems and mechanical equipment to ensure proper operation
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential safety concerns
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and used safely
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper handling of tools and cleaning agents
- Adhere to company standards, local codes, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
General Support
- Assist with property upkeep, unit turns, and other maintenance projects as needed
- Support team members and contribute to overall property maintenance goals
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of one (1) year of related experience in building maintenance or vocational training in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or a related field
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Working knowledge of general maintenance practices, including:
- Carpentry
- Plumbing
- Electrical repairs
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to read and understand moderately complex repair manuals, safety instructions, and chemical labels
- Strong documentation skills, including writing service requests and maintenance reports
- Must supply personally owned hand tools required for the position
- Valid Texas Driver s License required
- Must be able to provide copies of diplomas/transcripts and driving record
