The OpportunityWe are looking for an Aerial Lineman local to the Austin, TX area to support our operations from the ground floor! This position reports to the Director of Operations and represents an excellent opportunity to join an active, well-funded team, gain valuable experience, and advance your career as GRC grows.
Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair overhead fiber optic and coaxial cables.
- Safely operate bucket trucks, climb utility poles, and utilize tools such as lasher machines, span clamps, and cable reels.
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and schematics to complete installations accurately.
- Perform line and pole maintenance, including transferring existing equipment to new poles.
- Ensure proper cable tension, spacing, and alignment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cable damage or service disruptions.
- Comply with safety regulations, including OSHA and company policies, while working at heights and around utility infrastructure.
- Communicate effectively with team members and project managers to complete tasks efficiently.
- Previous experience as an Aerial Lineman in telecom or utility construction.
- Proficiency in using aerial construction tools and equipment.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Familiarity with safety standards and procedures, including fall protection and electrical safety.
- Valid driver’s license (Class A CDL preferred).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Understand and follow written and verbal safety instructions.
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding worksite hazards and procedures.
- Read safety signage, manuals, and technical instructions.
- Participate in safety briefings and emergency procedures.
- Experience with fiber optic installation and splicing.
- Knowledge of National Electric Safety Code (NESC) standards.
- Proficiency in using mapping and project management tools.
- Certifications in bucket truck operation or climbing (a plus).
Hourly Range: $27-$31 Hourly, based on experience.
Schedule:
Day Shift Monday
- Friday & Night Shift Sunday
- Thursday.
Travel Requirements: 100%.

The pay range for this role is: 27 - 31 USD per hour (Austin, TX).
