Responsibilities- Perform HVAC mechanical equipment and controls tasks on client sites as an apprentice.
- Participate in certified training through Service Technical Academy to build skill sets and advance your career.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and customer needs with coaching and mentorship.
- Keep JCI, contractors, and customers advised of job progress and issues.
- Meet attendance requirements for required Union training during the first year.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facilities run efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
- Provide quotes to support recommended solutions.
- Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items.
- Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO.
- One or more years of industry experience or experience servicing mechanical systems in HVAC.
- Knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities‑management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts ethically and professionally.
- Leadership skills to support the activities of mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site.
- Self‑starter with the ability to eventually work independently.
- Prioritization of safety in all forms.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Preferred: 1–2 years of trade school or college in a technical emphasis.
Pay Range: $20.98–36.24 hourly, determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
