- Assists in performing journey‑level installation, retrofit, and modification of low and medium‑voltage circuit breakers and switch gear, lighting, battery equipment, motors, motor starters, VFDs, soft‑starters, PLCs, DCS, UPSs, and ATS systems.
- And other electrical and controls‑related items in a power and chill water production environment. Maintains compliance with the National Electric Code.
- High school graduation or GED.
- At least 2 years of related apprentice‑level experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation and control systems for mechanical, electrical and industrial equipment.
- Hold a current Texas apprentice electrician license or attain one within 3 months of hire.
- At least 4 years of related apprentice‑level experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation and control systems for mechanical, electrical and industrial equipment in a power and chill water production environment.
- Graduation/certification from a relevant trade school.
- Texas Journeyman Electrician License.
This job requires a class 'C' operator’s driver's license. The applicant must provide a current three‑year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing.
Compensation$25.00 per hour
Working Conditions- Attire:
Jeans. - Uniforms provided.
- Safety shoes provided.
- Hours per week: 40.
- Work hours:
6:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday–Thursday; 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on Fridays; every other Friday off for half of the crew.
- Retirement Plan Eligibility:
Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. - Position is benefits eligible.
A criminal history background check will be required for finalists under consideration for this position.
