We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Chiller Technician to join our fast‑growing team. The ideal candidate will have a can‑do attitude and strong problem‑solving skills, as well as an active EPA Certification.

- Perform routine and unscheduled maintenance and repair of commercial systems including air‑cooled chillers, centrifugal chillers, pumps, cooling towers, air handler units, valves, fan coil units, variable air volume systems, etc.
- Diagnose and repair machine and equipment defects including electronic, mechanical, and electrical components related to these systems.
- Inspect and test system components to ensure proper operation, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, general servicing, and troubleshooting of mechanical HVAC systems.
- Assist in installing, retrofitting, and commissioning commercial chiller systems and related HVAC equipment.
- Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial/industrial chiller and refrigeration equipment.
- Be comfortable and knowledgeable in electrical components, timers, contractors, relays.
- Adhere to safety protocols and comply with regulatory requirements related to HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on‑site customer interface.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to clients regarding maintenance schedules, energy efficiency, and system improvement.
- Prepare and present detailed service reports to customers.
- Continual learning and development in the body of knowledge through First Call Academy to ensure a high bar of skill in the industry.
- Maintain elite level of customer service to ensure we continue to be the first call our customers make for their HVAC needs.
This position reports to the local Service Manager and is responsible for engaging with the service team and all of our customers.
Qualifications- Valid Driver License with an acceptable driving record.
- Active EPA Certification.
- 5+ years of experience in a commercial HVAC setting with chillers.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Technical training in HVAC or refrigeration.
- Available to work flexible hours and on‑call shifts as needed.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer by checking in and out with them on jobs. Able to explain problems and resolutions in a manner that the customer can understand. Closely communicate issues/concerns/updates with account managers on jobs.
Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem-solving and prioritizing multiple tasks. Help take lead over and teach helpers and tech I’s.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
