The role will take lead on installing 1kW‑30kW residential solar systems and overseeing the installation process of a solar crew. This is an advanced installer position that requires prior solar installation experience, strong verbal communication, organization, and leadership skills.
Job Duties- Assisting Crew Lead in plan review
- Ability to perform installs from conduit to roof
- Ability to run through electrical wires
- Installing DC and AC equipment per plans and local codes, commissioning PV systems safely
- Assisting Crew Lead to keep installers on task
- Assisting with system designs and procurement for residential systems
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Crew Lead and/or Regional Operations Manager (ROM)
- Knowledge of local electrical codes
- Knowledge of residential PV design and components
- Knowledge of basic trades: roofing, carpentry, plumbing, and metal framing
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, wiring schematics, and electrical instructions
- Ability to make field changes and communicate with Project Manager
- Ability to test voltages from 10V – 1000
VDC / 120V – 480
VAC - Ability to receive and distribute instructions
- Ability to communicate problems to Project Manager
- Ability to drive a truck and trailer safely
- Valid Apprentice Electrical License required
- Valid CO Driver’s License required
- Valid OSHA 10 required (OSHA 30 preferred)
- 2‑3 years of solar installation experience required
- Ability to be a leader
- Electrical experience strongly recommended
- Prior experience as a crew lead strongly preferred
- Ability to withstand heights, be on roofs and climb ladders
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
- Ability to bend, stretch, squat and lift
- Ability to work in 100+ degree weather
