Overview
Fort Bend County is seeking an employee to perform mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building repair work. The position involves routine inspections, furniture assembly, fixture replacement, HVAC maintenance, and emergency management duties as directed by county managers.
Responsibilities- Perform mechanical, electrical, plumbing and repairs as needed.
- Maintain routine checks on general conditions of building.
- Move or assemble furniture.
- Repair and replace light bulbs, fixtures and change air conditioning filters.
- Perform building renovations as needed.
- Repair HVAC units as required.
- Participate in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by county managers.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 year job‑related experience with basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and HVAC repairs.
- Good verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills, with ability to deal effectively with people.
Starting salary range: $18.31 – $22.89 per hour based on qualifications.
