HVAC Technician

Talascend is currently seeking an HVAC Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Austin, Texas
.

This role involves operating, inspecting, and maintaining HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing systems across multiple facilities. It requires troubleshooting, repair, and ensuring energy-efficient and safe operation of equipment in various sites near Austin.

• Operate, inspect, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment in assigned facilities.
• Perform inspections and repairs to interior and exterior property areas, including walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing, and lighting.
• Carry out preventive and reactive maintenance on facility systems and equipment.
• Study and familiarize yourself with equipment and proper usage methods.
• Perform facility inspections and report on conditions affecting operations and occupancy.
• Submit P-card receipts daily and update work order statuses in real time.
• Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed.
• Drive vans to various sites daily, mostly within 30-45 minutes from downtown Austin.
• Perform call-in work as required and perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering with a focus on HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and equipment repair and maintenance.
• Universal CFC recovery certification required.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial or supermarket refrigeration systems.
• Valid state driver’s license required.

• Experience utilizing CMMS (Work Order) systems.
• Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel.
• Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration, and HVAC.
