The Vehicle Maintenance Technician Class III plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and maintenance of our fleet, directly impacting the communities we serve.
Responsibilities- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on MTM Transit and Capitol Metro owned vehicles, including automotive, light duty truck, powertrains, undercarriage/chassis, electronic and electrical equipment, air conditioning/heating systems, vehicle accessories, and wheelchair lift equipment.
- Select and execute on‑road repairs (Road Calls) as needed.
- Document all maintenance data in the computerized maintenance management system, recording complaints, causes, corrective actions, labor, and parts used.
- Complete electronic repair work orders accurately and identify any required parts.
- Assist with facility clean‑up and organization.
- Communicate repair status and parts needs to appropriate parties.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Automotive courses from an automotive institute preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Minimum one year of automotive mechanical experience.
- Certifications or proof of training in: brake system (A5), PMI inspection, refrigerant (A609), brake repair.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, machinery, and sophisticated diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced computer diagnostic and repair skills.
- Commitment to safety procedures and the ability to attend required safety and repair courses.
- Flexible availability to work variable hours.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and attend workshops if required.
- Drug‑free and subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
- Must be able to provide own tools, including diagnostic and specialty tools.

Hourly pay: $36.61 (base salary may vary by location and individual qualifications). Competitive pay, commute, and growth opportunities available.
