Entry-Level Cable Technician (Commercial Low Voltage)
Location: Austin, TX (Multiple Commercial Project Sites)
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 Months)
Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Are you looking to start a career in the low-voltage, telecommunications, or structured cabling industry? We are seeking motivated, hardworking Entry-Level Cable Technicians to join our team and support commercial construction and technology infrastructure projects throughout the Austin area.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates coming from a trade school, construction experience, or anyone interested in learning the structured cabling industry from experienced professionals. Successful candidates will have opportunities for advancement and long-term career growth.
Responsibilities
- Pull, route, and secure low-voltage communication cables
- Assist experienced technicians with installation projects
- Handle and transport materials throughout job sites
- Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Climb ladders and work at various heights when required
- Install cable trays, wireways, and related support systems
- Build telecommunications closets and equipment rooms
- Mount and install racks, patch panels, backboards, and hardware
- Perform cable terminations and punch-downs on patch panels and blocks
- Assist with fiber optic and copper cabling installations
- Install grounding systems for racks and communications equipment
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
- Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply
- Trade school education in low voltage, telecommunications, electrical, or related field preferred
- Basic knowledge of cabling or construction environments
- Experience with cable pulling or punch-downs is a plus
- Reliable transportation to project sites throughout the Austin area
- Valid driver's license
- Comfortable working on ladders and at heights
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Must have or be willing to obtain OSHA 10 certification before starting
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
