Field/Service Technician, Installation Technician, Security Systems Installation
We’re looking for an experienced Security Technician with strong commercial low-voltage experience in access control, video surveillance, intrusion, and structured cabling systems. AV experience is a plus, but not required.
This role is field-focused and ideal for someone who can handle installations, troubleshooting, service work, and project execution with minimal oversight. You’ll work across commercial offices, schools, healthcare facilities, industrial sites, and state environments.
What You’ll Do
- Install, program, troubleshoot, and service:
- Access control systems
- Intrusion systems
- Run, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling
- Build out MDF/IDF spaces and maintain clean cable management standards
- Install and commission panels, cameras, readers, locks, devices, and associated hardware
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking-related issues in the field
- Read blueprints, risers, wiring diagrams, and project documentation
- Perform system testing, close punch lists, and support project close-out
- Document work performed and maintain accurate service notes and reports
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and project managers
- Support service teams and PMs with field verification and system validation
Preferred Experience
Experience with one or more of the following systems/platforms is highly preferred:
- Lenel S2
- Milestone
- Hanwha
- DNA Fusion
- Aiphone
- Cloud-based access control and surveillance systems
What You Bring
- 6 mos+ of commercial security or low-voltage experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills in access control, CCTV, intrusion, and intercom systems
- Basic networking knowledge including:
- IP addressing
- VLANs
- PoE
- Managed switches
- Ability to work independently and complete projects cleanly and efficiently
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and testing equipment safely
- Comfortable working in active construction environments, ceilings, attics, and lift work
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
AV Experience is a Plus
Experience with any of the following is beneficial but not required:
- Q-SYS
- Extron
- Crestron
- Conference room systems
- Commercial AV installations
Nice to Have
- OSHA certifications
- Experience leading small projects or mentoring junior techs
- Structured cabling or fiber experience
