Security Installation Technician
Location: Austin, TX
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate
: $30 / hour
Our client is actively seeking a skilled Security Installation Technician to support commercial security system deployments throughout the Austin market. This individual will be responsible for installing, programming, testing, and commissioning access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.
Candidates who also possess fire alarm installation experience are highly preferred, as the organization supports integrated low-voltage projects requiring versatile technical resources.
Key Responsibilities- Install, program, test, and commission commercial security systems.
- Install and terminate low-voltage cabling for access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems.
- Configure cameras, servers, panels, readers, locks, and associated field devices.
- Perform system troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs.
- Complete customer training and system demonstrations upon project completion.
- Conduct system testing and verify proper operation of all installed devices.
- Maintain project documentation, installation reports, and equipment records.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Manage inventory, tools, vehicle stock, and company equipment.
- Support system upgrades, expansions, and modifications as required.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional jobsite presence.
- 3+ years of commercial security installation experience.
- Experience with access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documents.
- Experience commissioning and troubleshooting commercial security platforms.
- Strong low-voltage installation knowledge and field experience.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Fire alarm installation experience highly preferred.
- Experience with the following systems:
- Brivo
- DMP
- Avigilon
- Genetec
- Hanwha
- Eagle Eye
- Open Eye
- Experience with fire alarm platforms:
- EST
- Silent Knight
- Potter
- Fire-Lite
- Manufacturer certifications preferred but not required.
