We are hiring a Fiber Installation Foreman to support large-scale data center construction projects at the QTS Data Center in Cedar Rapids, IA. This position is ideal for experienced fiber technicians who have led crews or are ready to take the next step into a leadership role.
The company offers a 90-day evaluation period for technicians transitioning into a foreman role. Candidates who successfully demonstrate foreman-level capabilities will be eligible for a pay increase following the evaluation period.
Lead and manage crews installing fiber optic cabling throughout the data center campus
Install and route fiber optic cable, innerduct, microfiber, and conduit systems
Pull cable through underground pathways, manholes, handholes, and conduit systems
Read and interpret cable maps, riser diagrams, blueprints, and work instructions
Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and project standards
Label and document completed installations accurately
Coordinate with project managers, splicers, and construction teams to meet project schedules
1-3+ years of fiber optic installation experience
Fiber cable pulling and routing
Innerduct and Max Cell systems
Underground and conduit installations
Ability to read construction drawings and cable maps
Knowledge of proper cable handling, pull tensions, and bend radius requirements
Valid driver's license
Data center fiber installation
OSP (Outside Plant) fiber installation
Previous crew lead or foreman experience
Per Diem: $135/day per diem
Company Housing:
Company-provided housing $65/day food stipend

Average of 50 hours per week with overtime opportunities

This is a Permanent position based out of Austin, TX.
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.
