As a Field Service Engineer - Cymer at ASML you will be part of a team of engineers who help our organization install, repair and maintain Cymer laser equipment at customer sites. You ensure that our systems work as they should - and be part of the technology innovation that's moving the world forward. You'll be a technical expert who will work with coworkers, customer & field support in isolating and solving problems to maintain and optimize equipment on a daily basis enhancing functionality and prevent problems.

You will act as a resource for users on routine malfunctions and will be responsible for the necessary transfer of know-how to the customer.

Position will be direct support for Tesla Austin.

Shift will be Monday-Friday 8-5 with opportunity for overtime after hours and the weekends.

Will also help support Samsung Austin, Samsung Taylor, NXP, and Infineon when needed

Role and Responsibilities
  • Analyzes, diagnoses, and troubleshoots Cymer equipment problems via telephone or at customer site.
  • Performs installation, repair, retrofits, upgrades and preventive maintenance on Cymer equipment installed at customer sites.
  • Maintains an assigned installation equipment base. This includes providing primary support, forecasting, conducting customer support meetings, and ensuring regular communication with the customer.
  • May provide service education to customer's service and operations staff.
  • Ensures that parts are available and as specified for service requirements and maintains appropriate tools are on hand and as required.
  • Completes service, expense reports, and other administrative responsibilities in accordance with Cymer's procedures and with supervisor's approval.
  • Must be wiling to work nights and weekends.
  • Support on-call for weekends and nights.
  • Able to work Compressed Work Week shift.
Education and experience

To help us tackle the technical challenges we face, you'll need experience working on high-tech products and with complex processes. As a Field Service engineer, you'll need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required.
  • 5 plus years of technical experience working with electronics is required.
  • Ability to apply advanced knowledge of installation, maintenance/repair, and troubleshooting at both the module and system level, while seeking expertise of more senior field service engineers, is required
  • Requires experience using the following software packages: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic e-mail systems, Lab View.
  • Oral and written English language skills required.
  • Must be able to successfully meet customer site access requirements such as: background checks, safety training, and cleanroom access (gowning and breathing apparatus).
