HSCS is comprised of ten psychiatric hospitals, two youth residential treatment facilities, and thirteen state supported living centers. The position requires advanced skills performing highly complex supervisory level electronic security systems support work for the existing and new Austin State Hospital facilities. The position requires institutional knowledge of various electronic security systems such as electronic building access control systems, video surveillance systems and telecommunications systems. The position will require the ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints of fiber optics, traditional and video systems surveillance equipment.
The position will be accountable for the Installation, Preventative Maintenance (maintaining accurate manufacturer recommendations) and Corrective Maintenance of Electronic Security System equipment. This position will be an integral part of future needs of the existing and new hospital facilities as it relates to security of staff and patients. Will work with Central Office Maintenance & Construction to forecast needs or upgrades/replacement of equipment.
This position will have direct reports and will be required to conduct annual performance reviews, account for staff activities in CAFM and CAPPS. This will be the lead contact for Electronic Security Systems vendors and contracts for the existing and new facilities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
