Kilgore Industries, one of Texas’s largest mechanical, electrical, and plumbing specialty contractors, is hiring an experienced Commercial Service Journeyman Electrician for our Austin team.

We’re looking for a skilled electrician who takes pride in troubleshooting difficult problems, completing quality work, and providing professional service to commercial customers. In this role, you’ll perform electrical service, repair, preventive maintenance, and small-project work across a variety of commercial facilities.

You’ll have the independence to manage your work in the field with the support and resources of an experienced Service team behind you.

What You’ll Do

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial electrical systems and equipment
• Perform service calls, preventive maintenance, electrical upgrades, and small-project work
• Install and repair panels, circuits, lighting, controls, disconnects, and related components
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications
• Follow the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70E, company safety procedures, and applicable regulations
• Explain findings and recommended repairs clearly to customers
• Accurately document completed work, materials used, and recommended follow-up
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment
• Work independently while receiving support from an experienced Service team

• Commercial electrical service and troubleshooting experience
• Ability to diagnose electrical problems and complete repairs with limited supervision
• Strong problem-solving and technical skills
• Professional communication and customer-service skills
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of commercial electrical service work
