We're hiring general carpenters in Austin, TX to perform a range of commercial and industrial carpentry tasks. Day-to-day work includes wood and metal framing, trim and paneling, exterior cladding, acoustical ceiling installation and other fit-out and rough carpentry duties on active construction sites. You'll read and follow construction drawings and measurements, keep work areas clean and safe, and coordinate with foremen and trade partners.
This is hands-on field work - expect physical lifting, climbing, and work outdoors in all typical job-site conditions around Austin.
What you'll do Perform wood and metal framing: floor, wall, roof and nonbearing interior partitions
Install trim, doors, frames and hardware; measure and cut trim and panels to spec Install acoustical ceilings, exterior cladding and other finish systems per drawings
Read and follow construction drawings, take accurate measurements, and mark layouts
Maintain clean, safe job sites: daily site cleanup, material staging and basic concrete/form work support
Work with crew and foreman to meet schedule, handle tools and equipment safely, and report issues promptly
What we're looking for Proven experience in general framing carpentry (wood and metal) and rough carpentry on commercial or industrial jobs Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans and measurements accurately
Experience with acoustical ceiling installation, exterior cladding, trim/paneling, doors, frames and hardware
Familiarity with metal stud framing, wood framing, floor and roof framing, and basic concrete/form work Comfort working on active construction sites, following site safety rules and performing site cleanup
Reliable attendance, ability to lift and move materials, and work full shifts on local Austin projects
Qualifications OSHA-10 card preferred (or ability to complete site-specific safety training)
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to Austin job sites
Ability to pass a drug screen and background check where required
Strong measurement/math skills and proficiency with hand and power tools
Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work safely at heights
