General Notes: UT Parking and Transportation Services is responsible for the management of over 17,000 parking spaces on campus, including 12 parking garages and more than 50 surface parking lots. Our operations include the distribution and regulation of daily, permitted, and event parking, as well as the maintenance of parking lots and garages. We also provide assistance to those parked on or traveling through campus.
This assistance includes jump-starts and opening vehicles for those locked out.

Purpose:
Provide journey level work in one or more disciplines of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and painting. Provide additional support performing other maintenance duties outside of your primary field including, but not limited to, repairing poles, gates, and various other maintenance tasks. May be required to work weekends, evening, comp/overtime. TX driver's license required. Must be qualified to operate UT vehicle and maintain acceptable driving qualifications through the University's driver education program.
Must work at least two home football games every year and one additional game every other year. Cell phone required.
Responsibilities:
- Perform journey level work in the repair, maintenance and installation of various skilled fields including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, welding, painting, concrete and HVAC systems.
- Assist in the technical aspects of ordering, estimating, and organizing various projects. Provide training and supervision to coworkers and helpers assisting in any and all work performed. Must be able to communicate effectively via cell phone, SMS and email. Clean garages on occasions when we have limited staff.
- Other related duties as assigned. Must work overtime and weekends when required.
Required Qualifications:
High school graduation or GED. Three years of experience as a journey level work in a maintenance capacity. Licenses:
Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in multiple crafts. Experience at UT Austin or other higher education facility. Associate or bachelor's degree. Graduation from a technical or vocational school. Experience using vinyl plotter software. Experience using line striping machines. Ability to follow written and verbal instruction.
