This position is needed to support the ongoing growth of the Utilities and Energy Management department. UEM will be involved in multiple upgrades and construction projects in the future.
Responsibilities- Assists in performing journey-level installation, retrofit, and modification of low and medium-voltage circuit breakers and switch gear, lighting, battery equipment, motors, motor starters, VFD's, soft-starters, PLCs, DCS, UPSs, and ATS systems.
- And other electrical and controls-related items in a power and chill water production environment. Maintains compliance with the National Electric Code.
High school graduation or GED. At least 2-years of related apprentice-level experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation and control systems for mechanical, electrical and industrial equipment. Hold a current Texas apprentice electrician license or attain one within 3-months of hire on date
Preferred QualificationsAt least 4-years of related apprentice level experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation and control systems for mechanical, electrical and industrial equipment in a power and chill water production environment. Graduation/certification from a relevant trade school. Texas Journeyman Electrician License
Driving RequiredThis job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

Working Conditions- Attire:
Jeans - Uniforms provided, Safety shoes provided.
- Hours per week - 40
- Work hours are from 6:00 a.m, to 3:30 p.m.
- The work schedule is a 9-80. Monday through Thursday, work hours are from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM. On Friday, the work schedule is from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Every other Friday is off for half of the crew.
