Job Description & Purpose

The Service Technician is responsible for performing planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and service on various models of forklifts and material handling equipment, including Linde, Baoli, and competitive brands.

The ideal candidate has previous experience servicing lift trucks, forklifts, industrial equipment, or similar mechanical and electrical equipment and is comfortable working independently at customer locations.

Previous experience maintaining and repairing forklifts/lift trucks or industrial equipment is REQUIRED.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform planned maintenance (PM), inspections, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and breakdown repairs on forklifts and material handling equipment.
  • Read, interpret, and understand electrical and hydraulic system schematics.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and other truck systems.
  • Repair or replace major system components, including electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, LPG systems, power steering, transmissions, engines, and related components.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex electrical systems on internal combustion (IC) and electric trucks.
  • Perform engine tune-ups and related maintenance on various makes and models of equipment.
  • Properly identify replacement parts and order all necessary parts to complete repairs.
  • Perform PM services accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment according to the technician's skill level and manufacturer specifications.
  • Properly use diagnostic equipment, specialty tools, and standard tools of the trade.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Operate and maintain a company service vehicle in a clean, safe, and secure manner while following all company and safety requirements.
  • Provide professional and courteous service to customers at their facilities.
  • Clearly communicate equipment issues, recommended repairs, and service requirements to customers and management.
  • Assist with training and mentoring apprentice technicians through on-the-job training.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, as well as customer-site safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, work orders, parts information, and required electronic records.
  • Work across the HTX Material Handling footprint when needed to support customers and the overall organization.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service and represent HTX Material Handling professionally at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

  • High school diploma, G.E.D., technical school, or equivalent technical training.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience repairing and maintaining forklifts, lift trucks, industrial equipment, heavy equipment, or similar machinery.
