This is a full-time, on-site CDL Laborers and Laborers role located in Austin, TX. Team members assist with telecommunications construction projects, including loading and unloading materials, site preparation, trenching, back filling, and supporting underground and aerial installation work. CDL laborers operate company vehicles and equipment to transport materials and tools to and from job sites, following all safety and traffic regulations. Laborers help install, repair, and maintain fiber optic and related cabling systems, set up work areas, and keep sites clean and organized.
Daily responsibilities include following supervisor instructions, adhering to safety protocols, using hand and power tools, and collaborating with crew members to meet project timelines and quality standards.
- Experience in general construction or utility work, including basic knowledge of underground and aerial installation practices.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and small equipment commonly used in construction and cable installation.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for CDL laborer positions, with a clean driving record and ability to operate company vehicles.
- Strong awareness of job site safety, willingness to follow safety guidelines, and ability to work in varying outdoor conditions.
- Physical ability to lift materials, stand, walk, bend, and perform manual labor for extended periods.
- Reliable work habits, punctuality, and ability to follow directions and work effectively in a team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in telecommunications, fiber optics, or related trades is a plus.
- Willingness to learn new tasks, adapt to changing project needs, and maintain professional conduct with colleagues and customers.
