LCRA is hiring a substation electrician to join our internal construction team! Do you enjoy operating heavy equipment, rigging and crane operations, welding, installing conduit and terminating control cables? • Build electrical substations using construction skills and specialized tools.
• Read blueprints, consult manuals, parts lists and keep drawings and schematics up-to-date and accurate.
• Assist other teams as needed to complete project scopes.
• Be a part of a team that prioritizes safety and quality.

• Two or more years of experience in maintenance and/or construction of electrical power, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, and/or other types of electrical equipment, including experience reading blueprints.
• A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
• Class A Texas commercial driver's license

• Hands-on substation construction skills: operating heavy equipment, installing conduit/cable, constructing steel structures, crane operations, terminating conductors.
• Experience with project-based work.
• General understanding of safe electrical utility operations.
