Maintenance Operations, a branch of the Facilities Operations and Maintenance Division, provides comprehensive maintenance services in support of the University’s operations. Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis for any employee without sponsorship. The position is security sensitive; a criminal background check is required.

Purpose

Provide journey level work associated with fire sprinkler systems, including testing, repair, inspection, maintenance, and operation.

Responsibilities
  • Perform journey‑level work in testing, repair, inspection, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems to meet NFPA codes using hand tools and monitoring devices.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on fire sprinkler systems.
  • Provide information to management for new projects and deferred maintenance planning.
  • Review designs and maintain documentation to ensure compliance with NFPA codes and university construction standards.
  • Maintain inventory control and inspect test equipment for safe operation.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Coordinate work with outside contractors.
  • Work from written or verbal instructions and in accordance with safety procedures.
  • Perform other job‑related functions as assigned, including participation in the On‑Call program.
Required Qualifications
