The Facilities Operations and Maintenance team is a highly responsive and knowledgeable crew that provides outstanding service for Facilities Services and the university community. Maintenance Operations, a branch of the Facilities Operations and Maintenance Division, provides comprehensive maintenance services in support of the University’s operations. Our teams offer opportunities for continuing education and various stipends for additional trade licenses. Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis for any employee without sponsorship. The position is security sensitive; a criminal background check is required.
PurposeProvide journey level work associated with fire sprinkler systems, including testing, repair, inspection, maintenance, and operation.
Responsibilities- Perform journey‑level work in testing, repair, inspection, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems to meet NFPA codes using hand tools and monitoring devices.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on fire sprinkler systems.
- Provide information to management for new projects and deferred maintenance planning.
- Review designs and maintain documentation to ensure compliance with NFPA codes and university construction standards.
- Maintain inventory control and inspect test equipment for safe operation.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Coordinate work with outside contractors.
- Work from written or verbal instructions and in accordance with safety procedures.
- Perform other job‑related functions as assigned, including participation in the On‑Call program.
