Job Overview:
Job Summary:
Primoris Services Corporation is seeking an Underground Laborer to perform a variety of physical tasks to support underground utility construction projects. This role involves manual labor, operating basic tools, and assisting skilled craftspeople in a demanding outdoor environment.
- Excavate trenches and ditches using hand tools and power equipment.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from trucks and trailers.
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground utilities, including pipelines, conduit, and cables.
- Perform back filling, compacting, and grading of trenches.
- Operate small equipment such as tampers, jackhammers, and cut-off saws.
- Maintain a clean and organized work site, including clearing debris and performing general site cleanup.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Flag traffic and direct equipment as needed to ensure a safe work zone.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior experience in construction or heavy civil work, particularly underground utilities, is a plus.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and follow directions.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all company safety policies.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical examination.
- Must live within or near Austin, TX
