Job Summary

The Crisis Specialist QMHP – Office or Residential Based is responsible for ensuring the provision of recovery‑focused, person‑centered care with a trauma‑informed perspective. This position performs case management, assessment, and service coordination within the program’s guidelines and may include continuity of care services, linking consumers and families to resources, and coordinating, monitoring, and updating services and consumer goals. The role also involves skills training, crisis prevention, community outreach, and collaboration with consumers, first responders, and community stakeholders to address immediate mental‑health crises and plan future relapse prevention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply best practices for complex behavioral health, developmental, and co‑occurring disorders.
  • Use recovery‑oriented and trauma‑informed principles, motivational interviewing, and cognitive‑behavioral approaches.
  • Offer individual, family, and group skills training using evidence‑based interventions.
  • Conduct crisis assessment and apply crisis intervention principles and techniques.
  • Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams and maintain knowledge of community resources.
  • Assist in crisis prevention, provide community outreach, and facilitate post‑crisis relapse prevention planning.
  • Document all assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans in accordance with agency standards.
Qualifications

Qualified Mental Health Clinicians (QMHP) who embrace trauma‑sensitive practices, provide suicide‑safer care, and foster a supportive, welcoming environment that promotes racial and health equity.

Education
  • Minimum:
    Bachelor’s degree in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
License & Certifications
  • Current and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Experience
  • Crisis experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
Hours & Salary

Full‑time; workdays vary.

Work hours:

12:00 PM – 10:00 PM.

Base pay: $24.18 – $25.39 per hour (based on education), plus a 10 % crisis stipend and potential additional shift differential pay.

  • Second Shift: +$3.25 / hr.
  • Third Shift: +$7.25 / hr.
  • Weekend Shift: +$8.00 / hr.
